Getting CCTV Evidence
Advice
If you need to obtain a copy of any CCTV then you are entitled to a copy of it under subject access rules. To avoid the trouble of helping you many organisations send out a standard letter as a means to avoid disclosing CCTV footage, often they say that the information can only be given to the police. Lestons have usually less problems with such claims for our clients as we can state that we are preparing a case which may involve a serious crime.
We have listed some of the UKs biggest public authorities and some of the most popular private organisations. If you require access to an organisation’s CCTV not listed here then we suggest you contact them directly with a formal request.
